Connect EUR-Lex to Claude
Query EUR-Lex directly from Claude. Arlet links the two through one MCP connection and takes care of API keys.
Connects your AI client to EUR-Lex through the Publications Office Cellar SPARQL endpoint.
Tools:
- search_eu_legislation: find works whose English title contains the given words. Returns title, document date and a EUR-Lex link.
- get_eu_document_by_celex: look up one document by CELEX number (e.g. '32016R0679' for the GDPR).
Why this is useful: Cellar is a linked-data endpoint whose model (work / expression / manifestation, language-specific titles) is hard to query by hand. This server hides that behind two plain tools, which is exactly the differentiation noted in the backlog. Titles are read from the English expression, so non-English-only documents may not match.
How to connect EUR-Lex to Claude
- 1
In the Arlet dashboard, open Data tools, find EUR-Lex and switch it on. No API key setup is needed.
- 2
In Claude, open Organization settings β Connectors from the account menu at the bottom left, then click + Add.
- 3
Choose Custom β Web, enter "Arlet" as the Name and https://mcp.arlet.dev/mcp/ as the Remote MCP server URL, then click Add. Authentication settings are auto-detected, so keep the defaults.
- 4
The first time you use it, sign in with Google. After that, every service you switched on in Arlet is available from Claude.
Adding a connector is done by an organization admin on Team / Enterprise plans. On Pro / Max you can add it for yourself from Settings β Connectors with the same steps.
