Search peer-reviewed psychology literature, PsyArXiv preprints, OSF pre-registrations and ERIC education research from one place. Built on OpenAlex (psychology field), OSF and ERIC. Pre-registration lookup lets you check whether a study filed its hypotheses before data collection — a replicability signal you cannot get from a normal literature search. The OpenAlex journal search needs your own OpenAlex API key; the PsyArXiv, pre-registration and ERIC tools work without any key.

Tools:
- search_psychology_papers: OpenAlex restricted to the psychology field, so social, cognitive, developmental and clinical psychology journals outside the biomedical index are included. Returns title, authors, journal, year, DOI, citation count and open-access status.
- search_psyarxiv_preprints: PsyArXiv preprints on OSF, for work not yet in a journal.
- search_preregistrations: OSF Registries, to check whether hypotheses and an analysis plan were filed before data collection.
- search_education_psychology: ERIC, for education and educational-psychology literature.
Abstract handling: abstracts are returned only for open-access articles under a CC license. For everything else the record carries metadata and a link, because abstract text remains the publisher's copyright. ERIC summaries are written by ERIC itself and are always safe to quote.
OpenAlex requires an API key as of 2026-02-13 and bills against credits, so the key stays in your own Arlet environment variables and usage is attributed to you. The key is declared optional so the three key-free tools stay usable without it; search_psychology_papers reports clearly when it is missing.
