Connect Psychology Research to ChatGPT

A research assistant for psychology that covers what PubMed alone misses.

Tools:

• search_psychology_papers: OpenAlex restricted to the psychology field, so social, cognitive, developmental and clinical psychology journals outside the biomedical index are included. Returns title, authors, journal, year, DOI, citation count and open-access status.
• search_psyarxiv_preprints: PsyArXiv preprints on OSF, for work not yet in a journal.
• search_preregistrations: OSF Registries, to check whether hypotheses and an analysis plan were filed before data collection.
• search_education_psychology: ERIC, for education and educational-psychology literature.

Abstract handling: abstracts are returned only for open-access articles under a CC license. For everything else the record carries metadata and a link, because abstract text remains the publisher's copyright. ERIC summaries are written by ERIC itself and are always safe to quote.

OpenAlex requires an API key as of 2026-02-13 and bills against credits, so the key stays in your own Arlet environment variables and usage is attributed to you. The key is declared optional so the three key-free tools stay usable without it; search_psychology_papers reports clearly when it is missing.
